I think it was 3.41 anyway.

Downloaded the latest system update, and following that I've been unable to download any updates for games.

I get the message about an update available, then when I start the process the entire system restarts. So far wouldn;t allow update of Uncharted 2 or Home.

Any tips or fixes?

P.S. Huh. My first system problem. Had to happen at some point I suppose...

tried and uninstall the game file ?! not savegames but the game it self ?!

Yeah, but I'm having this problem with ALL games.

I seem to somewhat of the same problem.. I can't pinpoint the exact point of when the problem started (ex firmware update). My PS3 froze during start-up, and ended up doing a "hard reset" formatting.. That fixed freezing during start-issue, but now all my game (obviously) have to download the latest update, but when I try to update ANY game, I just get a black screen and nothing happens - have to unplug ps3 and start again..

blu ray movies works fine, games from ps store (without disc works fine), i can download stuff to my hard drive, but can't play any "disc" games due to the update failure...

Have you tried to rebuild the data base ?

Or it's possible that the hdd is corrupted.

I've tried all the options in the safe-mode menu (holding the power button for 5-10 sek or so), rebuilding, restoring etc.. nothing seems to help.. Next step (i my mind) is to replace the HDD, but don't wanne waste money, if there is a less invasive solution ?

I can actually launch games if i decline to update them when the massage is prompted (eg play at version 1.0), but the initial joy was short, cus when i tried to enter online gameplay (Fifa 12), i wasn't able without updating to latest version - same problem all over again...

Maybe try another hard reset first.. damn.. then replacing the HDD..
