Ps3 Slim 120gb power unit failures

Has anyone else had power unit failures this is quite an expensive problem but i didnt send my ps3 back to Sony  as i didnt want a reconditioned one the total repair charge was £104.99 which i think is cheaper than Sony.

No it was just out of warranty and according to Repairs direct.com these power units fail quite often,i only play blue ray dvds on it but the longevity on all games consoles is not very long they should be made better
