Hello I've had a really bad week LOL!!![]()
My Ps3 's harddrive recently went currupt and i tried all the setting's in Safe mode to try and fix it but to no luck.
So i formatted it and used a back up from 3 or 4 months ago which worked so i went and re-downloaded what stuff i was missing from Psn and i decided to make a new back-up to be safe but than it encountered some sort of error when Backing-up and now the Harddrive is currupt yet again!![]()
So i was hoping someone here could help me out i really don't want to format it again as it took me 3 days to re download everything i was missing in the back up.
Is there some way i could fix the currupt areas via my Pc or some software that can?

PS3 HDD format is encrypted PCs can not read it.
If the HDD is on its way to a perminant sector Failures Its better to replace the HDD.
You can then buy a USB caddy (<£8 )for the drive and then attempt a repair using PC software to imbargo/blocks access to the bad sectors of the HDD.
You may find the drive may be unrepairable when you try to do a full drive check, instead of a Table of contents/partition change/format of the HDD.
Bios Of PCs can some times pick this up when you use them to format and check the HDD and refuse to use the HDD as they don't want faulty HDDs...

My ps3 started freezing sometime after i got it, which i stupidly blamed on Skyrim after reading that had freezing problems. Then switching to Fallout3 it freezes to so phoning Playstation support just get's an answer of reformat it.
Reason they think it might freeze and corrupt? Because they are rpg's which make large files and the system has trouble handling them .. so basically it's a system built to handle games but not rpg's .. lol
