I got the YLOD out of warranty and Sony gave me a replacement free of charge. She didn't even mention a charge of £145! If I signed up to Continuous Play would it be accepted or rejected in the event of a claim, due to it being a replacement?

That will be fine. CP isn't limited to the original console.

There's so many 60GB ps3's that are having the YLOD problem, surely Sony must realise this and sort it out for people.

3 years go by really fast.
If you have maybe 5 more Xbox's breaking after these 3 years, you could buy a new PS3.

Just pay up? Or you can cheat the system :smileysurprised:

Not really, because after your 3 year warranty expires on the xbox; the first fault you get out of warranty you would just bin that macine, buy a new one (which will be sub- £100 by then) and get a new 3 year warranty.

Sign up to continous play if you haven't given your serial number on the phone, if you have then forget it.

Don't payt £145 for a refurb, it's an insult.

There's a console available that does pretty much everything the PS3 does (and more in some cases) and is half the price. Google it.

Problem is it's 20x louder, 1000x more unrelible, and playing online, there are 20,000x more immature kids screaming abuse into their bundled microphones...

Bernie Rhodes knows don't argue.
