Ps3 wont play Mp4 AVC acc

Hi,

I recently bought a WD element 3tb 2.0 Usb and stored all my Mp4's for playback on my Ps3.

I formatted the hard drive on my Macbook running Mac OS x 10.5.8, to MS-Dot(Fat) and converted the Mp4's to the Mp4 video h.265 with audio acc as per Ps3 guidlines. The Ps3 picks up the hard drive and recognizes the mp4's as movies but when i press play the screen goes black as if it is about to play then goes back to the previous screen.

Also my Ps3 is hooked up to an analog TV if that makes a difference (which i wouldn't think it would).

I'd really like to get it working else i'll have to buy a digital Td and ill just hook up the hard drive straight to the TV.

Any Ideas?

Please use plain text.

Hi Lew9brt,

you don't have to convert your videos or format your 3TB hardrive to the terribly inefficient fat32 file system (although you could save a fat32 partition on it for PS3 backups).

Just use Playstation Media Server.
