Query concerning restoring PS2 saves

The PS3 I bought in early July died a couple of weeks ago; since I was replaying FFXII and had ripped dozens of CDs, I made sure I did a total back up to an external HD every few days.

I received a new system last week from Sony, and although I've managed to restore PS3 games saves, MP3s etc there is no sign of my PS2 game saves...

Anyone help? I'm pretty much near the end of FFXII (zodiac spear! woo!) and the thought of going through the entire game from scratch so soon makes my head sore!

Any tips/advice will be much appreciated!

Cheers,
JohnB

Re: Query concerning restoring PS2 saves

I think you're out of luck mate. I don't think the System backup saves PS2 saves. Of course I might be wrong but if it isn't obvious then you've probably lost your saves. I once used a MAX cheat disc once that had the option to Zip PS2 game saves on the memory card to preserve space and it certainly left me with a lot of space. Mainly because it corrupted every save on there (along with a near complete FF X save amongst other things) so I know how you feel. I'm sorry to hear about this sort if thing anyway but when it comes to games like these it's just not fair. :xCry: :xCry: :xCry:

Thanks for the info; I'll manually save PS/PS2 save files to a memory stick pro from now on. Bit of a pain, though - I would have thought backing up the PS3's hard drive would back up literally everything!

John

Re: Query concerning restoring PS2 saves

Well you certainly don't seem to cut up about it so I suppose that's a good thing. Anyway, probably a good idea to back stuff up. Infact, I should probably start doing that...
