Is that the best you could come up with? Maybe you better read up on the subject and how much money it actually cost them over this issue.

Well that's nearly why they did put on the extra warranty! They done more stuff like that before, such as paying millions for a month exclusivity of the COD map packs on xbox and they are doing that for the next 3 years.

And plus adding the warranty get's and keep's more customers, such as what xbox done! The longer a customer's console etc workds for the more they will buy for that console such as games, accessories such as controller's, headsets etc , games and other stuff off their online store etc.

They would have lost much more from the negative publicity if they didn't. But after they extended the warranty, pretty much all their customers forgave them and stayed loyal, and the userbase continued to grow.

So still purely business and not from the goodness of their hearts, but they were never forced to do it.

I don't see what this has to do with "Reasons for YLOD" though, this is getting off-topic.

Of course they were forced into doing it. Do you really think a company would give an extra 2 years warranty when all they did offer was 1 year. They didn't lose that much money just for the fun of it.

Seriously Shawty, ***** if your just going to start arguements and get thick over something when you were in the wrong aswell.

And Super-Brad is right, I just wanted reasons why the YLOD happens, Then you come and whoever else comparing it to the 360? Why? Pointless.

And Shawty your also saying that if a company puts extra warranty on a product it means its crap? Who gave you that idea mate.

I'm not starting to arguments (all though it takes two to argue, so its not just me if it was an argument). And do, I was not int he wrong.

Also, please quote me in where I said this?

Do you actually know how much money they set aside for the RLOD issue? I can tell you, its not in the millions and its not spare change, even to a company like Microsft.

I gave you the answer, you just don't like it.

The answer was "Ok, they weren't then, they just did it out of the blue for no reason." But lets get one thing straight, both you and I both know that is not true.

For what its worth, I never once said that a court forced them to.

and you keep on using the words "Of course they were forced into doing it" ... so what was used to force MS into giving the extended warrenty, as you still like to word it that way...
or will you admit they did it just to protect their customer base and did it from their own free will... only a court of law (or a countries law) can force a company to do something..., they may have been swayed by the consumer to change their policy, they were not Forced to do anything... hence MS give free 3 year warranties on RROD...

Believe what you want, what a company has to set aside over 1 billion dollars to cover for the payments of extra warrantys and paying for the ones that people had already fixed, they were not trying to protect their own customers, they were trying to protect themselves.
