Reasons i need to use pc

Ok, hope anyone can help me, my pc is about 10 yards from my ps3 and i do not have a clue how to set up a wireless connection on my router as i changed to plusnet but kept my other modem, i no longer have password keys etc, and am baffled as to how to get my ps3 to find my pc and connect to PSN

All i will say is i am virtually bedridden now and struggle just to do what others take for normal/granted

Anyone like to help me with a step by step simple guide to setting up would be fantastic

Is there some default i can use to do this or would PSN send me settings to enable me to get online with my ps3 slim.

:Stupid:

Re: Reasons i need to use pc

is your router next to the pc ?

if it is u can get someone to get a long ethernet cable and run it from the router straight to the ps3 for a connection

i dont think u can connect the ps3 to the ps network thru a pc

Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase

Re: Reasons i need to use pc

i recently got a new router from plusnet and it set itself up when i connected it.can you get someone to plug it in for you?

i dont think you can plug the ps3 straight into a usb modem i think you need to connect off a router (wired or wireless)

i'd give the new plusnet router ago. I was on plusnet before but they control log on details from their end so the new router should download everything from their servers. dont turn if off part way through though or it starts again, even if looks like it's stopped give it a good 30mins to finish

it can be done but you will still need a long ethernet cable and you pc will require 2 Network Interface Ports (NIC) and the 2 connections will need to be bridged via Windows

But the connection will always be crap as your pc has to reroute the content from one network card to the other and if you have a slow pc that slows the whole process down aswell

your better off running a long ethernet cable from the router to the ps3 you can get them from any good PC shop PC World/Currys. eBay is may fav normally they are cheaper on eBay than any other store
