Inverted always unless the game doesn't allow me. I suppose it's just the way I'm wired.

we already knew you were wired upside down really :smileyhappy:

i used to play games with the inverted setting, though i changed to regular a while ago. although it still creeps in sometimes when flying and aiming (ie Warhawk), or sometimes with the horizontal camera in some games, maybe its something to do with rotation movement.

anyway, regular for me too.

Re: Regular vs Inverted

If you lean forward then you look down, if you lean back you look up, inverted seems to be more natural.

Push joystick forward not up, pull joystick back not down.

It's only a game, have fun!

Regular! Can't get my head round perverted controls, my mate has it on and if i go on his ps3 i end up running in circles staring at the roof.

Always play with inverted.

Re: Regular vs Inverted

I prefer to play with regular aka non-inverted aswell. I can't really explain why, but I suppose it's as fski says, I'm wired that way :smileyvery-happy: Using inverted controls just feels "wrong"

Though I've found that I rarely change the camera controls. I find that I just adapt to the default for whatever game I'm on, in contrary to the control in FPS and Third person shooters.

Re: Regular vs Inverted

Inverted (old skool) can't get used to 'regular', I've tried but it must be a case of old dogs / new tricks.
Like others have said, I push forward to look down, as that's how I imagine my head / eye-line works (to my brain).

However, if I'm moving the crosshairs around the screen (as in Resident evil 5) then I use the 'regular controls'.
I seem to have no issues getting used to that, as I'm controlling the crosshairs, but when I'm thinking of where to 'look' inverted seems natural to me.

I guess something's gone wrong with my old noggin and how I perceive spatial awareness.
Or just that I got so used to it (inverted) after all these years, that I can't get used to standard. I almost can, but then when I panic,
I end up shooting the ceiling or floor :smileysad:

Re: Regular vs Inverted

There's a lot more people play 'normal' than I thought they would be, you know seeing as its all the wrong way round an' all.

I've tried to play normal before, but we didn't get on so well. Inverted all the way for me!

Only inverted.

Each time I play a game for the first time I hope it doesn't start in the middle of some action scene or - even worse - with no access to the options menu otherwise my brain overheats from the confusion of "normal" controls.

As for my explanation, up means look down for me, because if my screen would be a window and I would want to look at the ground (or at my feet) I would stand up... and vice versa, looking at the sky would require kneeling down.

Re: Regular vs Inverted

Inverted. Always. Whenever I get a game the first thing I do is change the controls. I run around staring at the ground otherwise  Just imagine a camera on the end of a stick.. with a pivot. Makes sense, right?
