Hey, a few of the older forums members might recognize me but anyway..

I've had an xbox 360 for 6 months now and I have been on my PS3 once since then. I'm not a fanboy of any console but for me, the xbox is the right console for many reasons, but I won't get into that.

 I'm trading my PS3 in at CEX Store (store where you can exchange stuff for money or store credit) and I have debit card details on my accounts and passwords etc. How do i completely wipe my PS3 from my accounts and passwords.

Those details are on Sony's servers and not anywhere on the PS3.

The only password stored on the PS3 is your PSN.

Isn't there a full format option in the recovery menu?

Highlight your PSN name on the left hand side of XMB, press triangle and select delete. I think you get a message saying something like 'Your account will be deleted' etc.

The other way to get rid of it all would, presumably, be to just format the drive.

Took a while for replies, the forums dead? lol

Erm, i did it before, i deleted the accounts and then deactivated the PS store

then system restored, did a quick one, the other would take 3 hours, but i checked as if i was a noob and i couldnt get my information back so it's all good..

Go to playstation network bit on XMB then account management then Billling Information

Then go to Delete Billing Information
