Removing OtherOS was a bad idea

[ Edited ]

If you have a right to remove a feature then you have no right to advertise it.

I paid for a machine that supports Linux installation and PSN access. This was what was advertised. Sony says we didn't have to do the upgrade and lose OtherOS. But we would lose PSN. Cmon thats like paying for a Porsche and a few months later having it swopped for a VW by the manufacturer, with no compensation (btw I drive a VW)

It's not right. If they are worried about hacks then beef up your knowledge on your own console Sony. Don't creep in at night and steal features I paid for. I paid for access to OtherOS and PSN for life, not just until you decide I've played enough. And don't even think of using that poor excuse "You have an option to upgrade or not". We didn't have an option. No upgrade = no PSN.

Sony stole from me, I'm not impressed. Here's and idea, hand over Playstation to Google. Those guys understand what we want.

I just thought that if no one complains, no one will know...you know.

This is me doing my bit to get back OtherOS

Your a few years too late, it is NOT gonna happen mate.:\

The same goes for disk based PS2 backwards compatibility, cross game chat and a decent browser.

These things happen, move on and  play some games on your games console

Plenty of people complained.... Over two years ago when it happened

Your thread is too little, too late for anyone now to really care anymore

Trust me, you're not going to achieve anything, 'Other OS' is NOT coming back

I still have Linux on my old PS3. I can still use PSN, be that from PSP / Vita / PS3, ect.

I had a choice at the end of the day, so on that PS3, i didn't except the teams.

I had another console so excepted Sony's teams on that one instead, so that the new console will allow me access to PSN and all my content ( while the older model stays off PSN ) BUT if i ever wanted to use PSN on the older console, all i have to do is except Sony's teams. Nothing was stolen or taken from me from what was bought day one on that PS3.

Either way it's done and dusted, time to move on.
