Came across this last week... RockSmith!

RockSmith!

Its yet another rythym based game, however, its a combination of a teaching tool/game! The game ships with a real Epiphone les paul (thats right, a real guitar!) and plugs straight into your PS3! It also comes with a cord to bang it straight into any amp!

There is no difficulty level, it auto-adjusts the difficulty of how well your playing from 1 note every few seconds right up to playing the actual song

There are mini-games to teach you fret control, cords and so forth.

They even have an Amp mode, which lets you select over 80 different amp and foot pedal combinations (can even change the gain on the amps ect.)

best news! ive ordered mine from amazon already its not due for release till 2012 some time.

i don't spose you know what model Epi les paul it ships with?

I'm guessing the cheapest model.

i already have an epi les paul i wonder if I can get the game by itself?

you can buy the game by itself + cable off amazon! im excited as pig in *****. The guitar that comes with it is a Les Paul Jnr.

Looking at the OPSM mag review, it looks like a pretty niche game... would be interested to get a muso's opinion on RB3 Pro Guitar vs this...

Well it arrived yesterday One of my mates brought his guitar around and we smashed out a few songs on multiplayer!

Fantastic i completely suck, the game suggests so aswell but im LOVING it

Let us know how u progress warblade. I play guitar and was keen on picking this up for my daughter to help her learn. I have a Strato so was going to buy the game + lead only. As Aidaen already said the amp feature sounds sweet.
