[ Edited ]

The provisional release date for here in NZ seems to be mid-November, according to Mighty Ape.

The price is in NZD, of course.

Re: SONY 3D DISPLAY

Thanks for the info looks promising esp not having split screen for 2 player games cool

do you think you be able to watch 3d blu ray movies on this screen as well or is it for 3d games only

I think it'll do 3D movies too.

Re: SONY 3D DISPLAY

I imagine it will playback 3D Bluray movies via the PS3, but to be honest I doubt they [the movies in 3D that is] will look very good on that small a screen.

When they make 3D movies they decide beforehand what screen size & aspect ratio screen the 3D will be designed to be viewed at, any screen that differes from those spec is a compromise, the smaller the screen the bigger [worse] the difference is going to be.

It would be good for games though, as they are designed on a monitor of a similar size, so the 3D playback at home for that on this monitor should be pretty spot on.

Re: SONY 3D DISPLAY

I'd wait awhile before getting one. The screen is only  24" and Sony haven't confirmed yet if they're going to make/release larger versions of it.

About the price; I've moved to the UK from Australia and games/blurays seem to be a lot cheaper here, yet Game.co.uk have it for £449.99 which converts to AUD $693.88 (as of 21/10/2011) which is way over the USD price.

Personally, I love the concept of this display, but the price doesn't seem worth it for a 24" TV with a lot of missing features that the larger 3D televisions have.

Again, I'd wait.
