Hey, I just bought the SONY wireless headset and I notice immediately it lacks the standard mic monitoring (can't hear my own voice) functionality that makes using team speak "possible". i.e. I end up yelling accidently otherwise. Or generally failing mid-sentence because I don't know what ive said.
What can I say, its how I'm wired.
I would like to be able to put this forward as a suggestion to a ps3 team personally, or at least a high enough ranked staff member so it can be passed on in ernest.
I was using it last night for battlefield and found myself inadvertently yelling at my team simply because I was in a loud tank. Even though my team may have been silently sniping on a hill.
Its not fair for me or them, and I don't think I could reasonably get around it.
Cheers

I see no reason why a software update could not address the issue.
I read another post and someone (with a lot of experience in recording music purportedly) said that it would use up unnecessary resources and there would also be a delay (as per the voice test in the xmb menu/accessory settings).
Well as an experience nerd, I cannot agree that the resources it would use to perform such an action would even register/have any sort of impact on performance whatsoever. It'd be the same sort of resource consumption as holding R1 o_O
As for delay... I concede its POSSIBLE there was a MASSIVE design oversight (if so, someone needs firing, as this is a blunder worse than the iPhone4 aerial design) that means any mic monitoring setting would have a half second delay (which would make things worse!).
But assuming the designers are above age 12 and have a positive IQ, there should be no reason why a delay would be necessary.
It seems that SONY, whilst managing to and PRIDING itself on foreseeing the future of its products, has simply failed to understand that mic monitoring is a highl desired feature for most headset users. Especially people who've ever used a telephone or computer.

Ooooo this is very interesting... I just posted about this and I thought it was a bug as I seem to hear everything my Mic picks up now through the headset...
Is it a bug or a new feature to address the above problem? I too hated speaking and not hearing myself in CODMW3 but now after reading this latest post maybe it's not a bug after all and in fact a feature to address the issue of people not being able to hear themselves when using the stereo headset...
