Re: Sending my ps3 for repairs through warranty

most likely, but i would got to the store manager and state that you want it replacing in shop and that you will not pay for a courier as it is covered by the extended warranty. don't back down.

Re: Sending my ps3 for repairs through warranty

Online stock is stock they have in the warehouse.

You would have to check in store when they will be getting new stock in.

You can go to any Game store with your extended warranty you just have to take it with you & your ps3 fully boxed as it you got it.

But i would ring around the other store near & check stock before you leave the house save yourself a wasted journey.

Re: Sending my ps3 for repairs through warranty

They will just replace the drive so you should get it back in the same state without losing any games saves.

First of all: stop worrying so much! I know how you feel. My ps3 died 16.12.2010 and it is undergoing repair/warranty check/whatever. Hopefully I dont have to pay for the repairs, bacause I haven't done anything to my console that would void the warranty, but that is different story... You just have to wait, you don't know how hard it is:Thumbs:

Re: Sending my ps3 for repairs through warranty

Jesus Christ, so many questions! They'll pay for everything and fix the problem, if it can't be fixed they'll give you a new PS3, should take no longer than two weeks so just relax a bit! Allianz is the insurance company who provide the cover and they are in partnership with Total Console Repair - who will actually fix your PS3. I used my cover when my pad broke and they were very good with it, had my pad back in 5 days.

Re: Sending my ps3 for repairs through warranty

Reading this makes me glad I signed up for continuous play before they stopped offering it. I'm on ps3 number 4 now and it's never been harder than a phone call to sony and a reconditioned one turns up the following day.

You have my sympathy friend, If your ps3 is still usable apart from the bd drive then I'd recommend doing a back up before sending it anywhere, just in case you don't get your original ps3 back again.

Also, there's absolutely no way I'd pay up out of my own pocket to send a console off to repair it when it's under extended warranty which states they collect the console from you. Did allianz/game say why they wouldn't send a courier to collect your console? Sounds like someone taking the michael to me.

Stick to your guns and go back in to game and raise some hell and pretty much refuse to leave without a ps3 or a promise of being able to collect a new one the following day, that's my advice.

Good luck, I hope you get it sorted out with the minimum of aggrovation.

Re: Sending my ps3 for repairs through warranty

That's what I'd do, it sounds to me like they were trying to fob you off to be honest.

If you'd gone in there in person and said you were wanting to buy a brand new ps3 and some games and controllers etc and they thought you were going to be spending £300 - £400 in there, Even if they were genuinely out of stock of ps3's in the model you wanted, game being a big, nationwide company would have had one there ready for you to collect either later that day or the following morning.

As i said good luck, I hope you get it sorted out.

As I also said yesterday, If it's possible then do a back up of your current ps3 before sending it off or exchanging it or you'll lose all your saved games etc. I'm speaking from experience.
