OK people i have a Game store and a CEX in my nearest big town (7 miles away) and was shocked the other day to see such a huge preice difference on games.

LA Noire (game) £17.99 (cex) £10 pre owned

Heavy Rain (game) £19.99 (cex £10) pre owned

Dragon Age Origins (game) £12.99) (cex £8) pre owned

Lollipop Chainsaw (game £39.99) (cex £30) (morrisons £25) new

 These are just a few off the top of my head,personally i feel Game have learned nothing from their very near demise and are now just ripping us off trying to claw back as much money as possible.

I for one will never use a Game shop again as i feel this is quite disgustinf as the comparisons are not just a pound or so but quite big in difference.

I agree, I also find Blockbuster tend to be waaaaay out on their pricing too at times.
Best thing to do is shop around, sometimes (admitted its rare) GAME or BB have some bargains.
My local GAME closed when they shutdown 3/4 of their stores and although their pricing was cackhanded, I kinda miss going in to browse and talk about games etc with the staff in there.

It's likely CEX operate at a far lower margin, you've only got to walk into a branch of CEX and play the flea/pee gauntlet to notice that.

I hear what you're saying though, I don't really think we're currently living in a world where boutique(ish) shopping experiences are going to survive on parochial high streets. I can't remember the last time I went into my nearest Game in Lewisham.

In my CEX Heavy Rain is £15 but the Heavy Rain Move Edition is £10? thats why i picked it up, generally my GAME store really isnt that bad on pricing, i would have thought prices would be the same all over the country but Heavy Rain is £14.99 in my local store

Just buy online now, i used to buy from stores for years but now i only really buy from Shopto.net, awesome prices and next day delivery

last time I went into game they were selling FFXIII-2 pre-owned for £27.99.

You can buy it brand new online for under £10 !!!!!!!

That was the last time I will ever go into a GAME store. I seriously hope they go down the drain as they are just greedy.

The LA Noire price seems about right, doesn't it?

£17 quid at Amazon.  

£23 quid at the Playstation Store and you don't even get the physical media and manual.

Im just looking at the Heavy Rain price, LA Noire is that price pretty much everywhere or near that price and for how good of a game DA: Origins is i think £12.99 is okay even if it is old, £20 for Heavy Rain though is silly considering i bought the Move edition for £10 in CEX

I noticed that GAME prices seem to be very high still, I havent bought any games from them in well over a year, I did pick up some cheap Singstar wireless mics for my girlfriend a while back but no purchases other than that.

I shop around and tend to buy from Amazon or even Sainsburys if they have the best deals !
