OK people i have a Game store and a CEX in my nearest big town (7 miles away) and was shocked the other day to see such a huge preice difference on games.

LA Noire (game) £17.99 (cex) £10 pre owned

Heavy Rain (game) £19.99 (cex £10) pre owned

Dragon Age Origins (game) £12.99) (cex £8) pre owned

Lollipop Chainsaw (game £39.99) (cex £30) (morrisons £25) new

These are just a few off the top of my head, personally i feel Game have learned nothing from their very near demise and are now just ripping us off trying to claw back as much money as possible.

I for one will never use a Game shop again as i feel this is quite disgustinf as the comparisons are not just a pound or so but quite big in difference.

I dont know whats more shocking, the fact that this even bothers you, or the fact that you dont have to shop there.

For a dedicated games shop they have always been known to be well  expensive. They closed half their stores not cut prices in half. Just go elsewhere.

I havent been living in a cave lol and it doesnt really bother me i was just pointing out the huge price difference in my local shops to people.

I usually use CEX or Ebay for my games anyway.

it just surprised me that the price differences were pretty big in my opinion.:Stupid:

Re: Shocking just Shocking.

GAME know they are the biggest game retailers in the country so they will put their prices higher

Re: Shocking just Shocking.

Items are priced according to what people will pay. So customers are ultimately sustaining GAME's prices. Most High Street customers tend to be impulse buyers.

Having said that, their prices seem quite reasonable compared to the PS Store.

Re: Shocking just Shocking.

I will only use Game or Gamestation if im trading in but even now I just tend to sell my games on eBay as you get better prices for them.

As far as game buying goes, I do most of mines online. So many deals to be had online, it just makes more sense.

Re: Shocking just Shocking.

Shopto have great prices, they have a sale each week with different games in which means alot of awesome games are pretty cheap, Dead Space 2 at £11.86 and Bulletstorm for £8.86 come to mind off the top of my head

Shopto don't have stores though.

Stores will always have high prices due to rent, bills, staff wages etc etc.

Plus, they take advantage of the fact that some people are happy and willing to pay the extra money just to have the game in their hand instantly, rather than wait for it in the post.

Think of it being more like the same system as paying for special delivery, and a 2nd class stamp.

Pay the extra and boom, you can play it as soon as you get home

Supermarkets can also afford to have lower prices due to the fact they sell so many other things, they are almost sure to make a profit whatever happens.

I don't and never really had a problem with Game or their prices. Looking at it compared to internet shops, I think most of the prices are about right.

HMV though? Pffffrt

Shopto have next day delivery though so even if you order your game at 5pm it'll still come in the post the next morning, such a good service
