Hi Fellas just a quick question,

Just got a 1080p tv and PS3 HDMI setting picks up 1080p  on auto display but should I untick the 1080p and 1080i and just leave the 720i setting on PS3 ?? If when im playing games will my games suffer with graphical issues or anything else if I leave my ps3 to auto setting of 1080p that it found. ??

why would you change it off 1080p???

for starters there is not 720i the settings are 576i, 720p, 1080i and 1080p. if you have a 1080p tv leave all of them ticked as your blu-ray movies will run in 1080p as well as games that support 1080p. if you untick 720p and keep the rest all ticked than if a game only supports 720p or SD (576i) the all your games will run in SD and its a waste of time having a HD tv.

as you have a 1080p tv krrp them all ticked and games will always default to their native (or closest supported) resolution.

There are some games that don't upscale or auto res properly (ala R6V) so it's best to leave it on 1080p unless you notice dodginess in which case you should do a search for games which may have issues to see if changing the resolution will assist with those.
