Re: Sims 3 Game Save Freezing *warning*

I tried the solution that EA support gave me, ie. Deleting the Internet browser cache and cookies. It made no difference. I can't be bothered trying anymore to get this working. I'm going to take it back to the shop tomorrow. EA support can't tell me when a patch is coming, if at all. I suspect it probably won't. I wish you all good luck in getting this game to work.

EA support has finially got back to me, though it took a lot longer than their promise of a 24 reply. This is their solution: 1. From XMB select Network. 2. Select Internet Browser. 3. After Internet Browser appears press Triangle button. 4. Select Tools on the Options menu 5. Select Delete Cookies or Delete Cache then select Yes to confirm. ???? Either the support guy didn't read my problem properly or else this game truly is weird. What does my browser cookies or cache have to do with The Sims 3 saving. I will try this. I don't see how this will work but I will try it. I'll let you know how it goes.

This is not working for me either.

More and more people being affected, read the last post on the EA forums where Steven has posted more links to people suffering the problem! http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/sims-console-mysims/1375396-game-save-freezing-ps3-warning.html

why did you bother doing all that? you know that it's a waste of time that has nothing to do with the sims 3! i am thinking the guy was completely useless! i still haven't had and problem with saving i played for ages last night and saved quite a few times too, i am going to backup my save tonight just incase though.

Re: Sims 3 Game Save Freezing *warning*

I bothered because I can at least say I tried their solution. I strongly suspected it would not work and that the guy was just making me jump through hoops.

As a follow up after sending a reply to EA telling them that their solution did not work and I was returning the game to the store for a full refund as this was not good enough they sent me back another solution.

This time they want me to delete all my game save data (which I have already told them I have tried), make sure that I have the latest system version on my playstation (clutching at straws) and lastly turned off any media servers that I have running. OMG of course, my media servers would affect their game from saving! First it was the Internet Browser cache and now it's the media servers!

It is obvious that there is no solution (except a patch that corrects their faulty code) that is going to fix this. Their support people have apparently been told to try suggesting anything again and again rather than simply stating the truth, which is "Sorry sir, your game will never work as EA has released a badly coded game before it was ready and at this stage we have no definite plans to correct it."

Oh and the real kick in the pants. In the last email they sent me with the above "solution" they also offered me a %25 off discount voucher for my next purchase of an EA product. You have to be kidding. If they think I am ever going to buy another EA game then they must be crazy. I couldn't finish Dragon Age Origins (also from EA) cause it was buggy and now this.

Good bye EA. I will not be buying any more of your products. When I pay full price for a brand new game I expect it to work. I do not expect to be part of a global, unpaid, software debugging team that is assisting in finding bugs for EA. If I wanted to do that I would have got a job as a game tester.

lol EA wanted you to delete your gamesaves?  i would have told them to shove it. as for their games i don't blame you for not buying them i would gladly do the same and a good reason to stay away from dragon age as the save file is copy locked anyway.

Re: Sims 3 Game Save Freezing *warning*

I don't really agree with locking save files. At the very least there should be a way to unlock them if you choose so that you can move them to another PS3. I know it's to stop people from posting them online and swapping files and also potentially making "alterations" to the data but still.

on another note. Loving this game. Can't seem to turn it off once I get started :smileyhappy:

same here, any gamesave that has a locked save file goes straight back to the shop i want to backup my own personal saves to a memory card and some save file modifications are actually fun borderlands is a good example you can modify guns inventory and have fun offline and mess about, nothing wrong with that imo.
and yeah same here i didn't stop playing sims 3 till 6am last night and i started playing in the evening! reason that i am playing it for so long is to get more money and i already have 10k i want to get enough so i can move out, my main sim makes 6k in royalties from writing a week i want to up that to 25k i have heard it can be done, my other sim i use to get the level 10 trophy for the jobs i am not sure what level i am so far maybe 5?
