So I smashed my controller...

[ Edited ]

When my console froze for like the 9th time playing Battlefield 3. (and no, 9th time isn't an exaggeration)

I reset my console and when i heard those horrible 3 beeps i just snapped, I'd had enough of this game locking up the console so i stood up and dropped the controller onto my foot for a volley off the wall, or at least that's what would have happened if it was a football, instead my controller decides it was going to make a hard right turn nose dive into my chrome dumbbell and obliterate it self.

I was gutted at first as i stood over the now busted open and sad looking mess that was once my trusty dualshock 3 controller made by the slaves at the Foxconn factory "allegedly", but then I began to laugh at how my luck is always like this and that the demise of the controller was somehow a message from beyond... the message became clear to me today when i looked online to see how much a new controller was going to cost, and to my dualshock, the price in Game is £40... I have to ask, are these guys at Game out of their funkin minds?, who sets the prices for these things?

OR.. is it just because i smashed my controller open last night and some how Game found out about it so today the price is £40?? What's going on here!!!

Does anyone know where to get an official controller a bit cheaper?, the cheapest i have seen so far is on amazon @£35

Re: So I smashed my controller...

I have the same problem! After a 3-0 defeat ( me as Chelsea, my opponent by, wait for it, BARCA *****ING LONA, srsly, theres other teams guys!) I picked up my controller and batted it with my wii-fit board into my radiator. My wii fit survived, however my ps3 controller didn't. No cosmetic damage as such, just when I click buttons other buttons get clicked instead.

on topic-more, controllers are bloody expensive, cheapest I found was £32 at argos.

Last time i broke one it was for the PS2, Back then of course you had the extra options due to having the wire attatched to the pad,,

Option A: was the swinging smash, where you'd hold the wire half way down and swing it full force onto the floor.

Option B: (my favortie) was the bolo smash, where you'd hold the wire half way down and spin the controller as fast as you could before launching it into the wall for a complete obliteration and you could feel satisfied with your achievment as you stood in the resluting shower of cheap plastic and parts.

Option C: one could always hang one self with it if you felt bad enough after several defeats in a row of fifa or battlefront 2 online.

Re: So I smashed my controller...

I had to laugh,i did pretty much the same thing about 2 years ago with my Fisher Price style Sixaxis controller(the one that came with my launch PS3,and you can see through it if you hold it up to the light)

it was while playing FF10 B/C and Seymore took the p*ss by having 12 turns on the run(his 1 turn actually consisted of 4 turns),and wiped my party out...so there went the sixaxis at the wall and shattered

So i bought a DS3,(i needed one anyway)for £32.99 from HMV...i just gotta remember to have my half shattered Sixaxis near me when i play again and i can throw that instead of my DS3 :smileyvery-happy:

Hmm. the hut is more known (to me at least) than that other site which has been linked, and this certainly beats Game's price. Done deal right there..... Unless.... Someone knows some special hidden website (unkown to the likes of me), that can beat the price of the hut?

We have £29.95 for a official DS3... can anyone else beat this?

BTW, thanks guys for the links.
