I'd say the earliest possible would be 2013 as new consoles are usually shown the year before at E3

EDIT - sorry was just going with the flow about the preordering for next friday thing

Only way to get one next Friday was to Pre-order it back at the PS1 release in the UK in 1996

I saw a poster for preorders for Mass Effect 3 with a March 2012 release date.
