Re: Sony Upgrade The XMB Please

My god, just how protective can you get?

It needs some updating in my opinion.

It's beginning to have too much stuff on it, and it can be slow at times.

The media management needs some looking at too if you have a lot of music for example.

So, maybe not an overhaul but certainly some touching up.

I think the XMB is great just needs to be a tad quicker, but the health warning is annoying and pointless Epileptics are fully aware of the issues.

Whoever came up with that idea, needs a good slap.(probably the same bloke who thought copy protecting saves was a good idea).

I'm fully aware SONY needs to inform its customers of health issue's .....But EVERYTIME!!! ....arrrgggg.

Same goes for those annoying MOVE warnings.

I wouldnt mind, but i dont or ever intend to own a PLAYSTATION MOVE.

Re: Sony Upgrade The XMB Please

It wouldn't hurt to have a few tweaks to the xmb. Being able to remove/hide unused things would help, also maybe a trimmed down XMB for when games are playing to speed up access.

The new warning at startup is unnecessary, and maybe add a check for updates on the game disk icon so I could manually update a game without starting it.

I just hope they don't overhaul it, the 360 interface keeps getting worse imo.

Re: Sony Upgrade The XMB Please

The health warning is becoming pretty standard for anything viewed on tv nowadays tbh.

Re: Sony Upgrade The XMB Please

The health warning actually doesn't bother me.. By the time I have turned the PS3 on and changed the channel on the TV to HDMI it's gone..

The health warning is like a Bilboard; where it smacks you right in the chops, as you're passing. It's so universally placed; making out, that just having the PS3 on will cause elpileptics to have a seizure. It's supposed to be placed before flashing images/lights occur within a game or mentioned on the packaging.

The XMB is only here for the PS3, but the PS4 would have the new LiveArea, similar to PSVita.

Re: Sony Upgrade The XMB Please

Why do they insist of sticking things on there like Vita saves and Playstation Plus? I have no intention of ever getting either so i want the choice to have it there or not. Same with the TV channels. I don't use them so they clutter up the dashboard and i want them off. Im also not interested in seeing stupid health warning everytime i turn it of. I have been playing consoles for over 10 years im pretty sure i know the risks.

Re: Sony Upgrade The XMB Please

It seems they only make things worse. When i first got my PS3 at launch the XMB was brilliant. Simple, Quick. Now its just a cluttered up mess.

Re: Sony Upgrade The XMB Please

the health warning is to cover for dynamic themes and video content aswell. also the music visual player, or would you prefer a warning everytime you started some music up. i agree about hiding some bits but i would love the xmb on the ps4 as it is still sleek, simple and easy to use just needs extra ram.
