Starhawk = Game of the year 2012:)

[ Edited ]

I know I will no doubt recieve responses saying that this should be posted in a different section but I'll go ahead and plug this PS3 exclusive game as it doesn't seem the Sony marketing team have put much effort into doing so...

Starhawk is a 3rd person shooter/vehicular/RTS hybrid. The things that set this game apart are the awesome variety of vehicles- hawks (mechs on the ground but can transform into flying jets) tanks, jeeps, jet bikes and jetpacks... Also the game has a mechanic which is called build and battle which allows you to call down structures from an orbiting dropship.

It will have a SP campaign and a co-op mode but MP is where it will be at:smileyhappy:

here's the trailer and some gameplay footage.

Starhawk hits shelves on may 10th in Australia and you can order the special edition at EB games

hope to see you online on may 10th:smileyhappy:

Those days are long gone dude... The whole place is too quiet for people to get uptight about 'sections'... I probably post more on the EU boards now than on the local ones, have never been told to rack off.. :smileytongue:

I thought it was just our section that was quiet... seems like it's quieter on the forums in general...

It is all good Mikey, as mr kiwiatlarge has said, the forums have slowed down a little recently,  Starhawk does look pretty decent though.

Hey Mate,

Has been a while. The Euro boards are usually a little busier than here, mainly due to the numbers difference, but they have alot of quality moderators and mambers as well. I usually visit their F1 & wrestling threads. I have always wanted to create a Soccer thread there as well "BUT" that would prolly be considered trolling & i'm not allowed to do that right

Sorry about the hijack Mikeymonty,  back to the StarHawk topic.

Starhawk looks awesome - well plugged :smileyhappy:. Probs the only 'new' game I'll buy between now and July, given how much great stuff PS+ keeps dishing out, and that I've got Skyrim and ME3 to play through! Oh, and I can't stop playing the most excellent (if niche) BIRDS OF STEEL!

Re: Starhawk = Game of the year 2012:)

lol...been lurking..watching...waiting for a post deluge...but alas

I tried the Starhawk beta when the beast was working...tbh I wasn't too blown away, but then I'm a  bit of a noob at these type of games......but if it is getting some fan-service from the Warhawk community then it must be doing something right.....

lol...Pretoria, I dare you to start a football thread in the UK forums....I'll grab the popcorn and watch :smileyhappy:

Re: Starhawk = Game of the year 2012:)

I think the difficulty with the beta was that there was no tutorial and it was difficult for new players to grasp how to play the game. The final version will have SP and co-op to give ppl a chance to get their heads around the concepts and then be able to hit multiplayer.

For me what made the beta less enjoyable was millions of noobies with absolutely no idea what they were doing so you'd see bases with 20 walls or 20 autoturrets......

Re: Starhawk = Game of the year 2012:)

Hey Mikeymonty does that mean I wont see you on Warhawk anymore?

I still play Warhawk inbetween finishing various campaign games as I pick them up.

I didn't get a real good go of the Starhawk beta and by the time I thought about trying it again the servers had already closed.  I would like to try it with more vehicles and maps to really get a good idea of what it would be like.
I have for some reason never really gotten into multiplayer betas and always ended up giving my codes for them to my son.  But come the full game its usually a different story for me.  I think I prefer trying out campaign modes before I go head to head with other players online.

Starhawk should be a blast when it comes out :smileyhappy:
