Re: Stationers beware !!

I've been playing violent games for over a decade. If he knocked the pens over in front of me, I would have flipped out, hit him with the butt of my gun, and hid under the table crying.

real world news affects kids not gaming. violence on the street affects kids not gaming. lousy schools affect kids not gaming. bad parenting affects children - this is where the parents fail to adhere to the age rating of any games.

I agree with everything you just said. Life is violent.

Re: Stationers beware !!

It's quite easy though to say, "That's rubbish because I'm not violent, but I play violet video games.

Little studies like this should be taken note of. There was evidence there that suggested otherwise. I still think it's a bit of grey area to be honest. There are studies on both sides of the argument and for me further research should be conducted in the matter which no doubt it will do.

Re: Stationers beware !!

Complete BS. The evidence provided is nonsense.

With every single football gamer, the interviewer lead the interviewee with his body language, by either getting up from his seat, or by making a commosion about the pens.

When it came to the violent gamers, he made no indication what-so-ever and carried on. They looked at him to see if he cared about the pens but because he didn't do anything at all, they didn't do anything at all.

The whole thing is ridiculous.

I find this whole thing to be nothing more than a tool to get violent games blocked or something else along those lines,, i mean. the opening comment by Jo was "A lot of parents seem to be worried about the amount of TIME their kids playing on the computer, but should parent be worried about the actual GAMES their kids are playing",,

So, the question there was of course all about these 'violent' games

Now, i dont know if its just me being a retarded conspiracy theorist here, but, i believe the questions should have been "Why are parents allowing their children to play 18 rated games or games which are rated above their age, and why parent allow their children to spend so long playing games"?

Shouldnt YOU as an 'adult' with children do your best to READ and UNDERSTAND what it says on the description of these games?,, and all you'd have to do real is just look for the age rating symbol on the front of the box if reading is a problem.

EDIT: Then you have the rediculous 'test' that was done with the pens, im sorry but if your always taught as a child to clean up after you, then you see someone spill a whole bunch of pens on the floor, your going to think, "well, he spilled them, he's cleaning them", but in saying that, those children could have realized it would have been polite to offer their help, but this is children we're talking about here, and NOT all children (like adults), are going to be thinking about being polite and offering to help at all times.

Maybe the test should have been to see how lazy or unhelpful the children were?

Re: Stationers beware !!

I agree.

How on earth are parents so thick to let kids play violent games is beyond me. Do they think they are being cool by giving their kids access to that kind of content?

The program should have been on stupid parents, not the games.

Stupid.
