TV advice for my playstation

i think im going to get a tv for my room so i can play my ps3 whenever i want but im not sure what to get, i have a budget of around around 350-400. I have had a look and the best deal i have found so far is this

http://www.johnlewis.com/231546439/Product.aspx

I dont understand this input lag and framerate business so i thought i should ask here haha :smileyhappy:

Seems to be decent enough for your requirements, would have been nice to be internet enabled though.

Also, dump John Lewis, you can find this TV cheaper elsewhere.

Amazon @ £314.99

Dixons @ £295.40

The only minor issue could be that it's LED edge lit rather than back lit.  It shouldn't be a major problem, just expect the 'edges' of the screen/picture to seem brighter/lighter.

Edit - Also, consider that the majority of PS3 games are infact only a 720p resolution and unless you intend on watching a lot of full 1080p BluRays, you may be able to settle for a better specced 720p set rather than the one above.

Re: TV advice for my playstation

generally in my experience, panasonic & pioneer are tops with samsung getting the bronze medal, although at your price range it can be a bit more hit n' miss.

my best advice is to read a few magazines to see what's out there & learn a bit, then go to as many stores as you can to see them in the flesh.

if possible, take you're own portable hdmi device to plug in to each tv, for a true comparison of how they perform at 720p/1080i.

you've already made a good choice with a 32".

you'd soon get tired of the quality that anything bigger in that price range could offer.

^ yeah that as well.

it's what i did in 2007 & never looked back.

mind you, if like me you 'only' intend on buying a tv every 5 or 6 years, then considering what's on the horizon (ps4 etc), full hd1080p may be the way to go.

 Yeap... exactly. 1080p is the resolution you want. When I bought my Sony Bravia HDTV, it was mainly for games, but then I started to get experimental with it and soon enough I was buying BD films to watch. So it's a really good choice that I bought a 1080p set, so I can get the most from the HD nonsence. Resolutions will also be going up in the future making 720p seem like standard definition and 1080p like 720p. So shop around and get a good spec for the right price. Avoid places like Binns, House of Fraser and John Lewis as these are terrible at pricing.

try this one as it is in your budget range and has 3D as an option.

another thing to think about when it comes to input lag. is that the more advanced the tv are, the more chance you will have a tv that will give you input lag. because of not big enough cpu, good for movies but not fast games... so buy a simple tv with good picture quality instead of a expensiv advanced tv with everything... so basicaly what you need is a 32" lcd, 100hz,2ms, full hd tv 480p/720p/1080p.... thats pretty much it...

Remember to give KUDOS if you like :smileyhappy:

Sorry I made a thread without seeing this........ Oops I'm also after a 32" for about £350, not interested in 3d but love Bravia tv's would the one above be ok for me considering it will only be used for ps3, blurays and free view maybe sky hd if I renew

Re: TV advice for my playstation

all this talk of getting a 1080p tv because ps4 is out soon, it may be wiser to get a 4k tv as for all we know the ps4 may be powerfull enuff to play games in this resolution as long ads you want to spend at least 5 grand though

Re: TV advice for my playstation

I would suggest getting your telly from John Lewis because you get a free five year guarantee. Those extended guarantees that most retailers try to sell you are a rip-off.
