Re: The 3D Gaming Discussion Thread!

I thought 2 eyes were required for 3D :smileyindifferent:

I have no idea how you'#re seeing 3D content but yes the LG passive TV's essentially use the same system as cinemas.

I, um...I dunno.

Re: The 3D Gaming Discussion Thread!

I would find it very hard to believe that anyone who only could see with one eye could see 3D images from a screen. Not sure about the glasses free tec though, I have no idea how that works.

Re: The 3D Gaming Discussion Thread!

Sorry, I didn't make myself very clear.

I have a 'lazy eye' and although I can see through my right eye (the lazy one - if I close my left eye) it is very blurry.  If I close my right eye, what I see is the same as if I had it open.

Re: The 3D Gaming Discussion Thread!

It's not a stupid question; but yes, you need to see through two eyes in order to percieve the depth.

If you can only see through one eye, you'll still need 3D glasses in order to use 3D content, but you won't be able to percieve any additional depth. It doesn't have to do with the specific 3D technology, it has to do with how the brain works when it creates depth perception.

There are several tricks the brain employs to make us percieve depth, not all of them require two eyes. But so called "stereoscopic 3D" (which is the one we're talking about when we talk about "3D support" in newer games and movies) does require two eyes (the brain essentially uses the difference between the images each eye takes in to create the appearance of depth).

Re: The 3D Gaming Discussion Thread!

Well my tv arrived today and.......no problem viewing the 3d at all.  I've got to say I'm massively impressed by it, the quality is soooooooo good.

Black Ops hurts my eyes though (when aiming down the sights).

Brilliant though, glad I took the plunge.

Re: The 3D Gaming Discussion Thread!

yeah black ops 3d would do that  it has to be the worst 3d game out there   very bad     have a try at some others (id recomend  uncharted 3   and crysis   both have amazing visuals  in both 3d and non 3d)

Re: The 3D Gaming Discussion Thread!

black ops looks AMAZING in 3D, unless you haven't updated the game yet. Read my post at the top of the page.

I have indeed and it's good fun, I thought Apocalypse was better but if you already have it then ten bucks for Rift is a good shout. No trophies by the way if you're into that sort of thing.
