Looks like a closing down fire sale unless it's a last ditch attempt to raise funds to get back in with suppliers.

Walked into GAME and saw there special deals...so i started chatting to the manager, letting it slip that I read they are going bust, selling off stock etc...he went red...they are having a cash flow problem in March but in April will be back on there feet. EA don't want to sell them there games in March cos, as he said, they will receive the money back in April and thus on EA accounts will show a massive loss...

When i mentioned about how GAME are viewed as an arrogant company by publishers he just shook his had and walked off...

Absolutely Priceless.

i had the manager walk out on me twice last week on 2 diffrent occasions.  1st occassion was when i queried about the Mass Effect 3 debacle, all i said was is this the beginning of the end for Game, i then waited and then got the following response, We "Game" choose to boycott the sale of mass effect 3, as EA would not give Game the monies that they required", my reply, It's not going to cripple EA, but it will kill GAME's sales/profits and do damage to Games rep with consumer. ..............Walked away.....

2nd occasions wasn't me but my wife, she went up to the manager, simply asked why have you increased the prices on ALL your pre-owned by £3-4, when the company is in difficulty, why not reduce the prices and be competative................ Walked away from the conversation....lol.

They are arrogant and treat like we know F***All.

In retail if a lowly sales assistant tries to raise an important issue or has a good idea it's very rarely listened to by Head Office

Aside from the small percentage of zealots and fanboys GAME have had working in stores over the years most grass roots staff are OK and don't deserve to lose their jobs because the Boardroom have made bloody poor decisions over the past few years

Re: The Bargain Bin!

Ihave only been to Game once and Gamestation about twice, Gamestation had better prices and the sales assistants talked openly and knowledgably about PS3 games and games on other platforms - they suggested ones they had played and seem enthusiastic. They didn't mind me talking about PS3 and about how much I was enjoying it - in fact one said he liked it the best to and then there was friendly banter with someone who prefered Xbox lol In Game, though, as soon as I mentioned PS3 everything went silent, then there was the sound of the desert wind and a couple of rolling tumbleweeds went by.....
