Re: The Bargain Bin!

Perhaps the GAME employee was feeling a little stressed/upset at the possibility of losing his job and the affect that will have on his life ?

Still as long as there are bargains to be had abusing shop assistants is ok ??? :smileysad:

taking your personal crap out on the public is fully justified

Wrong + Wrong ≠ Right

I used ot be a retail manager (for my sins) personnally the assistants behaviour is borderline gross misconduct. In a customer service driven industry and especially with their current situation simle customer service is sorta essential.

stick a written complaint into head office and cc it to the store.

Re: The Bargain Bin!

Whatever - but according to the original post the assistant said "Does this look like a boot fair to you" ? ok not great but does it warrant being told to go "f yourself" ????

Re: The Bargain Bin!

Everyone is different, and we handle things in different ways. It was completly justified in my opinion. It may not sound like he said anything bad for me to react with those words but you was not there to say otherwise. His whole attitude was f***ing disgusting. Not just to me, but other customers as well. Including a young mother with her small child. The way he spoke to her in front of the little lad was the reason I spoke back at him the way I did. I couldn't really give a damn about what he said to me to be honest. I kind of found it a funny response. I said that stuff back at him mainly from what I had just been witnessing before hand.

Shall we get back on topic guys. It's done now. Sh*t happens :smileyhappy:

very true, we had people giving 'witty' comments through the shutters while we had to strip our store.

NO!!!

I work in public/private sector (yeah it's actually both), people who work with the public don't deserved to be abused end of, also people need to stop thinking that because they're paying money, they can say as they please.

Re: The Bargain Bin!

To be fair if the guy is working on the frontline he has to expect s**t like that from customers and he should be profressionally enough to not react. I myself work for a major bank that over the past couple of years has been laying people off and closing centres, or certain areas within a centre, so I to have had to worry about this sort of thing. And in my line of work (complaints) I'm being verbally abused all day by customers that think that they are right or that we should act as their own personal accountants. But I don't react to it, I give 100% professional behaviour to these people, even though 99% of the time they are wrong! But I agree the reply was a bit strong, but the customer has the right to vent those frustrations, like the Game employee probably had the right to eject him from the store if he wished. Remember the saying though treat others the way you would expect to be treated!
