Hi Gymno74,

What web site(s) have you seen that on?

I've seen it on the YouTube Charts page, probably because the browser ends up loading most of the images in the "16 page" slider, at the top of the page.

ThinkPad T61 (2GB / 2.4GhZ dual core),
PS3 (256MB), PS2 (32MB), PS1 (2MB)
Commodore Amiga (512k), Amstrad PC-1512 (512k --> 640k + Nec-v30),
Atari 800XL (64k), Atari 400 (16k), Commodore Vic-20 (3.5k).

PS3youtube.com is now PAY For HD streaming feed service.

May be a little fee but you no longer get HD stream for free.

480p SD streaming feed is also disabled some times, that might be in error but the free service is now no better than normal youtube.com.(when this happens. Don't know whos error that is).

You can still down load some files instead of streaming but its having problems deciding whats got a HD file. ( same as above )

Despite the site's tag line "Watch HD Youtube on PS3", PS3YouTube until very recently only streamed videos in 480p (because 720p playback could be a tad jerky). Now, for the $5 donation, as well as "no adds", JaqB added the 720p streaming option (as an added incentive).

The other day I had to re-setup the 480p+ playback (click the link at the bottom of the page to delete the cookie), which restored quality playback (after following the instructions again).

Just tried this (using PS3) on the the post I just made to this thread (via PC) and it didn't zap the line breaks. Was this on a different site?

Re: The PlayStation 3 Internet Browser Thread

Browser Issues

  • Where a text box is programmatically disabled, which is necessary sometimes, the browser doesn't re-display the text box to reflect the new state (text should appear in grey, as for a button).

  • The cursor navigation routine doesn't ignore disabled elements (as in NetFront etc), such as text boxes, buttons etc.

  • If the cursor enters a disabled text box the browser incorrectly generates a MouseOut event, which may well cause a popup dialog to close prematurely.

Nope. That very post above included. Every post edited tonight on this forum had the line breaks removed from it during editing. When qouting some one the new text is added in to a new Quote box directly under the users qoute. With out any gap. (on linux now so wont happen).

Whoa - found it! It's when you're using a screen resolution of 720p or below as you edit the text via the PS3's text entry dialog (at the top) and not on the actual web page, as you do on a computer and with a PS3 screen resolution of 1080p / 1080i.

Actually, for 720p I don't see why they don't also allow on-page editing (so rich text editing is possible). At 480p, there just isn't enough screen space for this (in theory, they could mirror the text box display in the dialog, there by allowing rich text editing at 480p also).

hi tribble6,

mostly noticed this at http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/

can't remember the other sites but i've had several issues with this one since v4.10:

speedtester reaches 60% then either freezes or crawls at snails pace to completion & freezes there.

sometimes, refreshing any page on this site results in an instant freeze.

when posting, after clicking 'submit reply' i get a blank page with 'invalid url - error 400'. this also happens when i click directly on a thread, as opposed to forum>subforum>thread, but only when logged in.

clicking 'edit reply' leaves the browser stuck in some kind of loop. turning off java sorts this one out.

another new one as of yesterday, when using rgb scart on my bedroom crt tv, all page info apart from ads are squashed into a central vertical band approx' 1/3 normal size. in this state, the graphics & refresh=freeze probs are permanent features.

So its not because im on 720p component its because im not currently running 1080p O well Have to pour coca cola down the back of the TV soon then... ( can't justify new TV just for web browser. lol)

Re: The PlayStation 3 Internet Browser Thread

Great post, thanks for the info. Don't use the browser much as it was such a pain to use, but sometimes its necessary . But thanks you've made using the ps3 browser that bit easier for me.

Re: The PlayStation 3 Internet Browser Thread

Thanks for the info but internet browsing on PS3 is slower than waiting for a London Bus...

It takes 40+ seconds just to load the first screen when entering the browser and all my settings are fine...
