I can't seem to find the right screw driver.

My jewellers set of screw drivers fit, but it's not a snug fit, and I'm not sure if the blue screw is tighter than it should be, because I can't

open it without exerting too much force, I don't want to strip the screw.

Can someone tell me exactly what type of screwdriver I should use?

Mate, I didnt use jewelers screwdrivers like a lot of people seemed to use. I used a smaller phillips head i have in my stanley screwdriver set (availalefrom any bunnings). I managed notto strip any screws - i just pushed down nice and firmly while turning and they came loose. Some people didnt even bother with a screwdriver and went straight to the pliers, but i had no troublewith the screwdriver.

Stanely is the same screwdriver I used. I like their quality.

Good grip, strong head, precision tool.

Re: The Unofficial PS3 Hard Drive Upgrade Thread

I would like to know.. I have a 120GB SATAII SSD (Solid State) Notebook Hard Drive.... Would it work?? with the PS3? i mean if it did, the access times would far be greater than the conventional 5400rpm or the 7200rpm ones... also with SSD there is no heat.. well i would say No but very little..

Re: The Unofficial PS3 Hard Drive Upgrade Thread

there was a mention about this a few pages back and i did read an article (can't remember if there was also a link a few pages ago) and it should be fine, if your going to do it then post your results here in regards to load times, heat (if it's in a cabnet) and leave it running for a while to see if SUPA MEGA BIG ULTRA SPIN FAN GO GO GO speed happens with the internal fan.

The PS3 only supports SATA drives, not SATA II.

SATA II is backwards compatible

Re: The Unofficial PS3 Hard Drive Upgrade Thread

I'm pretty sure the 60GB Seagate HDD that came out of my PS3 (that I'm not using as a pocket media drive) is SATA-II.

Will that HD work and fit in a PS3?

And I assume the PSN stuff we've bought can just be freely re-downloaded again?

Cheers :smileyhappy:
