The Samsung Spinpoint M6 HM500LI will give you 413GB of space out of 465GB available.

Mine only has 312GB left of the 465GB

Ok so some people are saying that the comprhesive backup is a COMPLETE back up ( DO NOT have to re download games ) and some people say that thay still had to re download so witch one is it??

I have done the comprehsive way numerous times now and it backup everything.

Although I would make a seperate simple backup of your game saves

Just a word of warning though......THE PS3 (and so does the online manual) that some copyright demos and gamesaves might not back up.

But I would say that more than 90% of the stuff will get backed up.

Once you have done the back up can you let us know what backed up andwhat didnt??

Also as others have said you should do a regular back up of your save games.

When i upgraded my PS3 to 500GB i used the comprehsive backup and it was a 100% backup including my copyright demos and gamesaves.

Here is what we mean (if you bothered to read the first bloody post)

Simple

- GO to saved data utility under GAMES and press triangle and then select copy from the opitions and then select the destination
- Use the same for Music and Photos,etc
- However as Far as I know you can not save the actual game down this way eg PSN downloads

Comprehensive

- Go to settings
- Select system settings
- Back up utility
- Back up

and then select the Destination. The device has to be formated in FAT32 to be recognised by the PS3. This way everything gets backed up including the PSN downloads ( I am not sure of things that are protected though eg WarHawk).
