I dont think ive had any game freeze on me as much as Half Life 2(and the episodes)

Is this a well known problem with the orange box on the ps3?

Re: The orange box, freezing!

It has been said that the game plays like a straight port from the PC/360 versions and has many side effects such as framerate drops and freezing. Although one thing I must point out is that I never once encountered any freezes at all. I don't know, maybe I'm lucky or there is a pattern as to why it happens.

One thing I would try is going into the [Game Data Utility] of your PS3's XMB in the [Game] section and delete The Orange Box data. Once you've deleted it, try loading the game back up, installing the patch and then see if it still freezes as much. I doubt it could be your PS3 that is the problem, it's most likely down to the bad coding in the game.

Well the only  Freeze ive had was once during bioshock so i thought it might have been a faulty disk

When you first start the game whilst connected online it should have prompted you to update to version 1.10, it's 579MB in size so it is quite a hefty update. It has TONS of improvements, mainly stability improvements such as better overall framerate, less freezes and less lag on TF2. Although it does it's job to fix the previously mentioned bugs, it's not 100% guaranteed to get rid of them. :smileyvery-happy:

Well it sounds as if its worth a try, wouldnt mind seeing an improvement in the framerate at least, its all over the place,  funny really when you think you can be playing killzone 2 and it runs flawlessly.

Then there's this...

Re: The orange box, freezing!

It's such a shame as well. The orange box would have been such a great game for the PS3 if it had the developer support.
