Re: This PS3 system cannot be activated.

I'll send an email, enclosing what I was told by that guy (wish I took his name now).

I'll call up again aswell, see if I have any luck...it's worth a shot. Do you reckon I could be able to get a slim in replacement?

I just got off the phone with Sony, the guy wasn't very helpful at all. According to him:

- I am not allowed to de-activate accounts
- Logging in as myself on somebody elses PS3 to play my DLC, only for it to YLoD counts as gamesharing
- My DS3 isn't covered by Continuous Play because I bought it online
- I can only have a like for like replacement, even though others have been offered slim PS3s

Not a happy bunny.

EDIT: Oh yeah, he also told me that Moderators on this site are not Sony staff and I shouldn't listen to them. :SadWitch:

Wow he sounds like a right idiot. I'm gonna have to email them about it then. My last ps3 also has the ylod, so I'm wondering whether I too should ask for a slim and see what they say. I've currently stolen my dad's ps3 :smileytongue:

Re: This PS3 system cannot be activated.

Go for it, there's no harm in asking. I emailed this address:

help@uk.playstation.com

They replied, and gave me a referenced number, as well as saying they'll reply within 24 hours. Hopefully my mini-rant might do me a favour.

Good luck!

+1000000 the digital age of downloads where you don't have a fair right in the matter over what you own and rightfully paid for, nintendo do it aswell, if your console breaks down you don't get 5 activations you loose everything on that console if you send it into nintendo and you have to buy everything again, it's so harsh man.

On one side I understand why they are doing this they want to prevent people from downloading stuff from their frienda accounts  but on the other this sucks because i paid for that stuff and it is in digital form so there must be a way to get it back if something get broken.

I have a question i currentlly activated 2 ps3 as one broke down so i am using my second  and 1 psp. so i have 3 activations

My question is am i allowed to download an 1 particular dlc five times or just for the 5 consequtive ps3/activationa.

As i said in my previous post, email them :smileywink: . When you do email them, do not come across angry and like a little child, remain calm and throughout your email state facts in normal conversation :smileywink:

As a Technical Support department manager i deal with allot of escalations on a daily basis, trust me it works :smileyhappy:

I might call up and see if I can get somebody else a bit later.

I've also PM'd MB, so I'll await a reply from him come Monday.

I PM'd MB about a week ago, still waiting on a response, i don't even think he bothered reading it. :smileyindifferent:

Re: This PS3 system cannot be activated.

This is quite worrying, i am on my 4th ps3 and i never deactivated my previous ones.

What is this whole activate and deactivate thing anyway?

I dont think i even activated my previous ps3's.
