I agree about the animation also but that's a very minor complaint. A 'luxury' to say the least.

I shall best you one day my friend........(when I get rid of the family...lol)
But your comments are right...it is nice when going through a game a friend is playing to get some friendly competition going...and it helps drive you to finish it :smileyhappy:

Re: Trophies Should have Scores (similar to 360)

the achievement notification is much better than the trophy one for a few reasons:

1. if you unlock 2/3 achievements in one go, which happens more than youd think, on the 360 you get a single notification saying 'unlocked 2 achievements for 50 points' or however many it it is. with trophies, the notification comes up for one, stays for 5 secs and goes away, then a few seconds later another pops up and does the same, and so on. the achievements notification is much nicer and easier on the eyes.

2. when you unlock an achievement and it pops up on screen, if you press the guide button you go directly to the achievement list for that game and to that achievement. with trophies, if you press the PS button when the trophy notification is on the screen, you just go to the regular in-game xmb.

3. the placing of the notification - 360 developers can customise where their pop-ups go, doesnt seem to be the case for the PS3. most 360 games default to the bottom middle of the screen, which rarely gets in the way of any HUD details. the PS3s default to the top right of the screen, often covering up HUD details.

4. the achievement notification looks nicer, as its got a nice smooth animation. the xbox logo comes up, then the description bar slides out from the right. after a few seconds, the description bar slides back into the logo and a second later the logo fades out. on the PS3 the box just pops on, then disappears a few seconds later, doesnt even fade out iirc.

I would appreciate this happening on the PS3. Everything else is just personal preference, but this would actually be useful.

Re: Trophies Should have Scores (similar to 360)

I'm not to fussed about trophies anymore, but if I happen to buy a game that I enjoy, then sure, I will try and platinum it just for my satisfaction. If others want to compare theirs to mine, I will still have the bigger total. :smileywink:

Re: Trophies Should have Scores (similar to 360)

imo saying "I have 41 plats", is better than 786548979540 gamer score. It makes you think about the effort gone into each and every one.
