What sort of delivery times should be expected if importing from the US?

Also has anyone found it cheap because i had a very quick look and $60 works out more in sterling than it can currently be preorderd for over here and thats before HMR&C have had thier grubby hands on it.

Im not really botherd about the censoring i just wanna play the game soon but the price, international p&p, delivery time, customs duty/vat and having to use a US account is putting me off :/

I hate delays :Frown:

£43 is the best I managed via airmail. Delivery is typically 7-10 days from the states in my experience. Obviously you are never going to get an import game for the same sort of price you can domestically. The import market has a mark-up anyway even before you deal with the postage.

Whilst it is eligible for VAT to be levied, in my experience it is rare that airmail packages are caught for it. Obviously the sheer volume of airmail makes this a logistical improbability; although not impossible.

Can you PM me a link to that please.  Not been able to find it below £52

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

So I've heard that Europe have censored something in the game and edits are not welcome, therefore I'm contemplating about buying American version of the game.

But I've got some questions... Will online multiplayer and patches work? Of course, I know DLCs won't work and I'm not bothered about DLCs anyway.

You'll be perfectly OK getting patches for the game if you import it. Only thing you'll have to worry about is whether or not it requires an online pass to play online, and whether you want to acquire any DLC when it's released. As both the pass and DLC will be region locked.

Re: Twisted Metal Import from America

Has anyone preordered the import from Play-Asia? I've got the US version preordered but it's still 'preparing the order' and has a release date of 'February'. Yet the asian version is in-stock now. I don't know whether to cancel and order the Asian version. Anyone know if it'll be in English?

You'd be better off getting it from somewhere like videogamesplus.ca

The asian version may not be uncut and may not be in English (although it probably is)

I didn't order from play-asia this time because I suspected (seemingly correctly) that they wouldn't have non-domestic stock such as US versions by release day because they are a Chinese retailer.

Re: Twisted Metal Import from America

Looks like I can't cancel my order as it's sat on preparing, however it's always been sat on preparing for over a week. Absolute nonsense. I've sent them an e-mail so I'll see what happens. I said if it's not sent within the next 24 hours I want it cancelled, otherwise I'll open a dispute with Paypal.

Re: Twisted Metal Import from America

Play-Asia are a very good company. I've bought loads of stuff from them, and in fairness on the US version of TM they never said that it was being released/shipped on Feb 14th. They always listed it as feb 2012 (most likely because they wouldn't have US stock on US release day)

Still a pretty poor effort though. One would assume they just hadn't updated the date, as opposed to it secretly meaning they wouldn't have any in stock. For all I know that could mean they won't have any in stock til near the UK release. Yet despite not even having the game in stock, they lock you out of being able to cancel your order? And an import isn't exactly something you can return. It's also worth noting in my account page the order is still set as a "Not yet published or released" - not being able to cancel when it's 'not released' is just a horrid system.

Hopefully they get back to me tomorrow, but so far I've not had a response back.

Did you hear back from play asia yet? Looking to do the same but worried about online, dlc and TM black download.

Re: Twisted Metal Import from America

Just received my American copy of the game... I couldnt wait another month for a stupid censored version. The game works great on single player but none of the DLC works and the online pass wont even work! Is there a way round this or can sony send alternative UK equivalents for the codes.

Seems a bit weird of sony to regionalise codes for content. I am not a fan of companies that try to make money on playing online with these online passes... but the fact that they have regionalised these as well is very dishonest of them. Buy a new "multi-region" game whilst abroad and get slapped with even more money to pay!

Once more with none of the limited edition DLC codes not working I feel like I have completely wasted my money. If only I knew this before buying it.

On the plus side the game is awesome, but I just wish money hungry companies would stop taking advantage of the gamers that support their industry and games!!!!!!

You need to enter the codes on a US account. The content will then work on all accounts on that console.
