Hello everyone,

Since I'm a new owner of a PS3 system the question might sound extremely dumb, but here it goes anyway.

I am from Croatia (Europe) and want to buy a second hand game from the UK - via eBay.

I googled the question and found that PS3s are region free, but I found something called DLC and was wondering if someone can explain what it is and how it works.

DLC is short for downloadable content basically it's all your extras for a game that aren't needed but can just give you something new and possibly make a game last longer

So bottom line is - I can buy any game from any part of the world if I plan to leave it at that, no upgrades and no online play? I understand that for online play I can still log on but will be playing with people from the region the game came from?

You can still buy DLC and play online and it would be against anyone in the world also connected to the playstation network

The PS3 games are not region free. Every BD game has a region. 

Every PS3 game BD is localised for that region of release.

The PS3 hardware is NOT region locked for games. So allows Other regions games to play.

Download content is region locked to the same Game region as the store you use to download it.

When the EU has multi regional BD versions released with in EU only the stores for that country will carry the correct DLC for that Game.

Codes for a French Version of Burnout paradise for example won't work on UK burnout BD as the UK BD was localised just for the UK... These Game may be rare but they do exsist.  

Also be aware you can't use PSN card vouchers, they are also Region locked.

Euro vouchers don't work in UK PSN store.
