ps3 is powerful. and i will always be on on ur side, but with all these news coming, that the ps3 doesnt have enough memory to do so, is i think a bit of a letdown, since it is one of the most wanted request, for sure VITA will have it. but isnt there really any other way to pull it off? may i suggest if indeed it takes up a lot of memory why not decrease the some amount of things that uses this memory a lot. cmon i certainly dont bellieve ps3 cant handle it. it has Vidzone, MUBI, Lovefilm, BBC iplayer, ITV player, why is this thw only one missing. i also know that there is a video/and text chat in ps3, cant u improve that instead and make it with a cross game chat function? with a system software update, just like what u did on activating every ps3 on 3D...?/ cmon sony dont let us down againn.

Cross game chat IS COMING OUT for PS3!!!

Unfortunately it also comes with a stick of 256Mb RAM and a soldering iron.

All applications that run on their own. X-game chat runs in the background behind the game you are playing. Hell even text chat struggles and then you  yucked if you try reading a message = Hard reset most likely

I'm sure if they could they would, no?

PS Vita has double the amount of RAM at 512mb and has been built with X-chat in mind.

Learn to read.

Those applications run on their own, like a game.

X Game chat would need to run ALONGSIDE these, using valuable RAM that devs struggle with as it is.

Because the apps you mention do NOT run or use the RAM (as far as I know) when you're playing games, that is the issue, the RAM available is used for the games and there is none (or not enough) left over for X Game Chat....
