UMD Drivers

Woludn't it be cool if they had UMD drives for the ps3 and a programme that would allow you to play your psp games and also watch old UMD moveis so all that money spent wont be a wasted when sony cancels the production on the psp when the psvita comes out?

Re: UMD Drivers

They won't be stopping production of the PSP. In fact, they released a new low-cost model of the PSP at the same time they announced the Vita.

Re: UMD Drivers

We just released that E-1000 model and we would be cutting off our foot if we just said stop making them.

Anyways the PSP will be around for a little longer and I for 1 am looking forward to the VITA.

Re: UMD Drivers

Unless I'm wrong on this PSP games are 100% compatible which means companies like Atlus aren't even going to stop releasing new games which they haven't. There's no reason that the Vita shouldn't mean a sudden death of the PSP.

What I am awaiting on myself is what's happening about the comic store. I didn't understand why the updates were cut off to begin with when it's probably just going to start back up for the Vita and still be compatible for psp.

Re: UMD Drivers

To give you an idea of product longevity - the PS3 came out in March 2007, and the PS2 is still in production.
