i thought it was more difficult on Normal than the previous were on the same setting. though it may have been down to the situations that you get into during the game, there seems to be less cover and the enemies rush and flank you alot quicker in some of the confrontations (especially shielded/shotgunners). though i wouldnt say it was a slog by any means, just more challenging, which is always nice when done correctly like it is in U3.
not sure if its a trend or not, but some games recently have upped the Normal difficulty to be slighty harder, but brought the higher ones easier. or maybe thats just me being more rubbish at standard difficulties xD.

Utterly astonished at the OP comments.
Uncharted 1 on Crushing was insane, even on Hard I struggled.
Uncharted 2 was a lot easier on Hard and Crushing was just as easy.
Uncharted 3 was way easier than Uncharted 2!!!!! The ONLY point I struggled was at the fountain at Chapter 21/22...
Uncharted 1 I struggled with the monsters, the level with the parachute in the tree and the part where you drop into the knee high water, they were just insane!
Uncharted 3 is so easy and is easily the easiest of all Uncharted games.
So I'm not sure I can see how the OP comments are true...
Level 5
Uncharted is all about preperation; where the right weapons are made to serve a purpose. There's a reason why numerous rocket launchers or sheilds show up during missions... and it's to tell you you're about to face loads of challenging enemies in the next sequence.
So take your time and don't rush it. Patience is rewarding.
Level 3
Jesus thank the lord that they are releasing games that your not going to complete in a few hours,im all for it,i haven,t played U3 but played the other 2 installments and thought that they were relatively easy to complete on hard settings,i commend the game makers for making you actually work for your achievement,iv,e been trying the Subara Expert challenge on the Seasonal events in GT5 for a WEEK now and have narrowed the margin down to 1.5 seconds to the leader,it,s the sense of ahievement you get after doing a friggin hard section of a game that keeps me coming back
..bring it on suckers.
