There has been alot of rumours about the next gen consoles blocking used games. It is understandable why game developers don't like the used games market, they only make money on the first sale. They have already countered this by having the online pass in some games. It makes no sense for the next gen consoles to block second hand games completely but I do see an expansion on needing a code to activate games. and not just for online play. New games will probably come with a one-use code. But game-stop and similar retailers would have to account for this in their resale price, so waht I see happening is second-hand retailers will work in partnership with IPs and will provide a new code for the second hand games they sell. This means Game stop will still make a tidy profit but the developpers will also get a slice on second hand sales. This will hamper private sales though as a code will need to be bought on top of the game disk. The next gen. consoles are still a couple of years off at least but nothing stops this system being implemented in the current generation

I hope that preowned games do stay as I do buy them from time to time. I suppose only time will tell 😄

ok, perhaps a link to this information would help here. because i have never heard anything about completely blocking used games. only the online pass. so basically....

It is not Orbis specific, it is the rumours that both Microsoft and Sony are planning to block second hand games
