Hi Everybody!

I'm trying to find a way to connect my headphones to my PS3, but i'm having some trouble. I bought one of these USB to 3.5mm adapters, but when I connect it to the PS3 it doesn't seem to work.

I have a pair of decent headphones so I'd rather not have to buy a pair of bluetooth or USB headphones, so I figured this USB to 3.5mm adapter seemed a good alternative. The PS3 seems able to recognise it, and in the Audio Device Settings it shows up as "USB AUDIO", however when I connect headphones all I get is static. Also, when I select audio output to "USB AUDIO", I still get all of the PS3's audio coming through my speakers. Is this normal? Do the Audio Device Settings apply only to headsets for use with in-game voice chat?

It seems this adapter is designed for use with PC's, so it's quite possible it's just not compatible with the PS3. Either way, I'd be extremely grateful if anyone has any ideas about what I might be doing wrong.

Im having the same issue, luckily I havent bought one of the adapters you mention, though i was considering it. Have found an alternative yet? if so please let me know!

You cant get game sounds through the USB ports period, all you can get is voice and chat, bummer i know.
