Just used VidZone for the first time. I set a video playing, it buffered then just as it started my PS3 turned it's self off and shows a flashing red light. I've turned it off at the back and back on again and when I do, the fan starts up for about 2 seconds then shuts off again with the blinking red light!

Not happy.

Anyone else having problems? What does a blinking red light mean? I don't think it's overheating becuase I'd only just turned it on and the fan didn't kick into high gear or anything.

Yeah mine brand new CP replacement delivered like 20 mins ago keeps bombing out, I think its cos the first video I played was Elton Johns - I'm still standing.. I knew I shouldn't have played that vid... FTL

its overheating leave it for a couple of hours. and my vidzone itsn't working, wont connect to the videos.

mine is stuck at the loading screen,honestly it feels like this whole generation of consoles is the BETA (tester) for next generation consoles.

loaded ok but now giving errors at the "downloading vidzone catalouge"

I seriously hope it's just overheating but like I said, the fan didn't kick up. I'll try it again in a few hours and hope for the best but Vidzone's getting deleted straight away.

my ps3 crashed & i had to restrat it by holding the touch power button.i thought for a moment my ps3 has died like the OP's. scary.....

Don't forget that if the fan didn't kick in then it could cause it to overheat. The fan is more than likely software/firmware controlled so if you get a glitch in the software then the fan might not kick in when its supposed to.
