Sometimes when we play COD games, we play and then our PS3 goes loud and then it turns off by its self. This has happened a few times now and we want to know if anyone elses PS3 does this.
Also when it turns off, the TV is still on and the PS3 light is flashing red. When we turn it on, the message tells us that The system wasnt turned off properly last time it was used etc.  Since we got MW3 it has been just turning off by itself. Three times today,  two times yesterday, and we only got it yesterday. It happened once when we were playing MW2 on a campaign mission around April this year. But whats weird is that it only happened on these two games and once on Life With Playstation , when we play FIFA and Sims it does not happen. We need help quick and please leave us a comment, especially if this has happened to you. Thank you Sony.

A blinking red light (without the brief yellow light beforehand, which means something worse) means that the console shut itself off because it was overheating. Is your console in a well ventilated area? Is the environment clear of dust?

Thanks man. We thought that was the problem. My dad is going to buy us a fan to keep the PS3 cool. But, thank you much appreciated

My playstation has just shut down, seemingly like yours. Did you have to leave it before it would restart or did it start ok

We have to switch the system off, then back on , we turn it on and it says that corruption thing every time..

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your console.

Renze is correct, it appears that your console is overheating.
