Re: Want a new game like inFamous

It's funny... because people often say I resemble my signature..... (avatar no so much)...

You look like Uncharted Triple Platinum Club?

Re: Want a new game like inFamous

It would be quadruple platinum club by now, where it not for Bend's level design and setpeice quirks, a weapon kill trophy which cannot be obtained outside of redoing 1 of a couple levels 50 times, and needing more friends than a US lottery winner...

Ouch, sounds like UC:GA is a _tough_ plat!

Re: Want a new game like inFamous

Well, probably annoying than tough... If I rewrite what I wrote before in normal english, I'd say the difficulties are...

1. The handheld controls, inconsistencies in how you can control Drake, and level design I believe would make Crushing really frustrating... I felt Hard was harder than Crushing on U2 and 3, and probably up there with U1. With U3 especially, you could learn stealth patterns for most of the difficult parts.

Some of the design flaws.... areas where you are hanging and shooting, but the game won't actually let you release the grip and hide.. you become a sitting duck, especially on those hanging signposts, ala Nepal Village in U2... There is one section where an unarmed Drake has to run over linear jungle terrain while the goons shoot at him. It is 90% trial and error luck based.. you can dodge a little, but you have no means of cover or hiding, so it is largely trial and error until you pass... The rope hanging bits where they shoot at you. I've mentioned before... your only realistic chance on Hard and Crushing is to get a Wes or Desert and try and one shot kill them...

2. The weapon kill trophies... It's a straight copy off the U2 list (U3 at least got rid of the stupid 200 kill chain gun), but with no medal point system, there are no unlimited ammo or weapon spawn cheats... Sorry folks, infinite ammo and infinite enemy respawn by not going down the stairs in the second last level in U2 won't work in this game... You don't even have a stats page to know how close to 200 kills you are... What's worse is there are only half a dozen times in the final levels of GA that the GAU gun appears, and probably only one of those has any more than 5 or 6 bad guys you can shoot...... The spaz and rpg trophies aren't much better...

3. The one that really annoys people... Unless you are incredibly lucky. you have to rely on your friends list for 5 Black Market trade trophies... I would say over 80% of my rare and uncommon drops have come from my friends..

Don't get me wrong, it is an amazing game, and impressive that they have put an Uncharted game on a handheld device that is probably technically superior to UDF, but Bend are no ND, regardless of any hardware restrictions they may have had with the Vita over the PS3...

Re: Want a new game like inFamous

It's deffo on my must-play list, but I don't tend to chase plats anyways, unless the individual trophies appeal to me (and by the sound of it, I won't be going anywhere near this one - relying on random friends trades sounds pretty tough, particularly for a launch-era game when it's impossible but for the Vita to have limited market penetration).
