Hey guys, 


I'm looking into buying a new gaming headset for my PS3, and I've come down to a few options, I can always change convert them into surround sound headsets using turtlebeaches dss device.

So my two options at the moment, are:

- PX21 (Wired, Variable Chat/Bass Boost)

- PX3 (Wireless, Programmable Chat/Bass Boost)

Both of these headsets are decent, and seem to have the same specifications. Only a few differences.

The Programmable chat boost allows you to change it out of the box more specifically. The Variable only allows you to change a few dials on the remote thingy.

Wireless interference is one of the things coming to my mind with the px3's, however I don't think i'll be playing more then 2 meters away from the transmitter.

EDIT: x12's are also an option (Already done my research on how to set them up with a ps3 so that really isn't a problem).
Also if your wondering and have a different suggestion my budget is anything upto: £80

I can only comment on the PX21's as that was the headset I used before I upgraded tot he X41's and bough an Amigo II cable to be able to use them on my PS3 as well as my 360.

The PX21 is a quality headset, the sound and chat quality was excellent and I never had any issues with them whatsoever.

If you down the wirless route I wouldnt worry about any intereference unless you have a plasma TV, they are the only thing that I have heard of the intereferes with these headsets.

Ok thanks for that, I believe the px21s and px3's have pretty much the same setup, just a few programming changes. I'm going to be switching up my gaming setup, so I'll make sure to not buy a plasma.

Anyway, has anyone tried the px3's? Do they distort, or will they most likely have the same good quality as the px21's. 

Also, are the x41's any good? Are they durastically better then the px21's or just slightly?

I currently use X11s,(which are great)and i have been looking for a headset to be able to use on both my PS3 and Xbox,those PX21s look like they will be perfect for me

I am only a few feet away from the TV/Console so i don't need(or even want) wireless

X41s are for XBOX360. The conversion to PS3 is expensive.

X42s are for PS3, As are the PX5s.

If you are going wired. you should be on the look out for DPX21s, These can be found bundled for only £10 more than PX21 on there own at that price the Digital audio in upgrade is a bargin. if you can put up with even more wires.

I think the only difference is that the X41's is that they have 5.1 surround sound, they are a little comfier than the PX21's as well lol.

I loved my PX21's and the only reason I upgraded was so I could have a headset that Icould use on both my PS3 and Xbox 360.

I've got a few prices, take a look...

DPX21 - £105

X41 (With PS3 Conversion and Rechargable Batteries)  - £100 (Refurb with 3 month warranty)

PX21 - £40

PX3 - £50

I know the DPX and The X41 are over my budget, but I suppose I could go up to £110.

Sorry a mistake there, £90 for x41's but then I would need a usb hub for all the sound cards and stuff... So it'll work out to around £90-£100....

Also, the other headsets (not including x41) are all brand new so will have a 12 month warranty. The x41's will have a 3 month manufacture refurb warranty.

So what do you guys think I should go with .

O thats bad the popularity of the DXP21 has pushed the Price up to stupid levels. when all others are going down in price.

Get PX3 even if you did not want wireless for a £10 extra theres no real reason not to...

(buy supermarket only brand food for 2 weeks)

PS. If you want audio for music playing with the TV off connect the input to the PS3 analogue feed

(the cable that was free in the PS3 box.)

If you want to hear TV audio output when PS3 is off connect it to the TV audio phono out instead.

Another thought came to my mind, I checked amazon UK and the AX720's were £100 and out of stock. However on Amazon.com they are only £80 and free shipping??

So whats your guys opinions on the ax720's, I've heard their better then the ax pros. Any opinions?
