Yeah, but surely they could put anti-piracy measures in. You're downloading directly from the sony servers, so they control which files you need for each update. All they need to do is include a part of the file which is a key linked to your profile. PSN games are readily available to download off dodgy sites, if you're that way inclined. Gimping the features for regular users won't change a thing piracy-wise, so they might as well give us a more user friendly approach.
I doubt it'd ever happen, but it would be nice.
I only have one option for ADSL2 at the moment, due to telstras monopoly where I am - and I refuse to go with them. Hopefully other companies come out here soon, because it takes ages for some files... I had to stretch the download of my welcome back package over 2 weeks because of this, lol

I also am in a Tel$tra only region, Luckily Im willing to spend the coin on 2+ through another ISP. But still it only sits at 4mb.
Thankfully we have a kind and compassionate company like Tel$tra to teach us all what it is like to be homosexual. (Well on the receiving end anyway, they shaft more people than Ezio)

Halos actually not a bad game at all but all this undeserved praise
has just made me sour towards the series...of what is a good to average shooter.
Killzone, Crysis, Half Life etc are better games imo.
Seriously though I think Sony just needs to keep doing what its doing
with the PS3. They started out rocky but are hammering it at the moment
Only thing I'd like added would be MKV playback.
Lets just hope they dont revert back to their late PS2 days
and become too brash and full of themselves.
I'll never forget Ken Kutaragi saying how the PS3 will be expensive
and people will want to work more hours to buy one.
