Ok so here's the story: Last year after the PSN hacking everyone was given some free games to choose from. I chose ratchet and clank a quest for booty as one of them. However, now, just over a year later when I try to play this game, a message appears saying that to play this content I have to renew my license on the store. This involves paying for it... So what's happened and why can't I play the free game I was given? I haven't changed PSN accounts or anything like that Anyone know?
If you downloaded the game it should be in your downloads list try downloading it from there.

Is the free game Ratchet & Clank yours? ie: where you purchased it of the store using your own (present) account.
If the game was downloaded using another account: You'll need to reinstate the account the game belongs too, back onto your PS3 and access the account holder's download list, to download R&C again, in order for you to play the content yourself; provided of course, whether the account holder is willing.
...unless it's in your name. lol
Maybe you've created a new account and the game is associated with the old one.
You'll need to log into your old account:
If you can't remember password or log-in details, give Sony a call: 08447 360 595

You need to go into Account management, system activation, PS3 system and click on game, try this on both yours and your brothers accounts, hope iit helps.
