if they did start charging as im expecting next gen, unless its a amazing reliable piece of kit im sure xbox will gain quite a few new customers as the ylod/blueray failures have upset many loyal sony fans and the only reason they've stayed is the free online gaming.

The main reliability problems I had with PS1, PS2 and PS3 are the disk drive lasers. Never forget putting the PS1 upside down or to it's side to run games. I changed the lasers myself as it's a lot cheaper to do.

Yeah I meant for next gen. I know people can go back on their word but they've sworn that PSN will remain free. Next gen is different as they could make it different and charge for it. Which I foresee with the way things are going :smileysad:

Wouldn't surprise me.

Also, back in 2005 and early 2006 they kept talking about how important backwards compability is for them, and took jabs at Microsoft because their backwards compability was so poor, and then in the second half of 2007 they removed the PS2 backwards compability all together. Very important indeed :smileytongue:

All signatures sucks, especially those with images in them.

For me its not the blu-ray drive, its the damn fan going nuts after its only been on for 20 mins, anyone know how i can fix that problem as i have to turn the volume right up just to hear anything.

Is your PS3 a slim or a fat one ? I used to have a fat (replaced under Cont Play 4-5 times) and they were v noisy, the Slim I bought last year is whisper quiet and I don't realise it's on most of the time...

Going off what optical drives typically sound like, even the PS3 slim one, while a fair bit louder than the older drive is still much quieter than standard optical drive.

Also, I hate to do this, but 'laud' made me chuckle. It's loud :smileytongue:
