As the title says... what's the need?

I went into a quick online game in Burnout earlier today with the intention of trying out my new wheels in a race or two. So I join a game and I'm on the freeway bombing down, as you do, next thing i know there are 3 guys mouthing off at each other. One guy in particular (Had a blue name) is saying you mother f'in this and mother f'in that. He said something about killing their first born too. So i asked what was going on over the mic and he told me to back the f- off.... naturally i don't appreciate being spoken to like that in real life so some loud mouthed punk wasn't gonna get away with it online. I seeked him out and got a T-bone take down! (Yay for me!)

So on that this guy chokes up his ghetto dictionary and throws every word he has at me. He then tries to follow me across the entire map. He crashed about 5 times and each time it was my fault... This guy had to have been on something cause you don't come out with that language unless you've got a problem. He must have been paranoid or something... But I just don't understand all the violence which people put into these games. It wasn't any fun for me but i insisted on pushing his buttons out of self respect.

This isn't just on burnout though, ever since i started gaming on the ps3 i've encountered a lot more violence over the mic. I used to play Quake III and UT 2004 online and we never had this sort of behavior...
