 I am so fed up with going to some video clip on the net and having to go round the problem to see the footage (if it's available) on Youtube. 

Somewhere I heard the PS3 uses flash 9 and most things on the net seem to be on flash 10 or 11 or that's what you're instructed to go to Adobe and upgrade to anyway.

Why don't Sony sort this out and make the PS3's 'token' browser at least compatible on the video compatible playback front; if it is too greater job to make it compatible elsewhere.

Oh and by the way, this hoo ha about HTML5 being the shining beacon of the future doesn't seem to stack up from a conversation I had with a mobile phone rep. in Tescos the other day.

Yes I appreciate he may be only a mobile phone rep., but he seemed to know his stuff about how data's moved around on mobile devices and which phones are compatible with what! 

Is Adobe going to continue to have this strangle-hold over everything seemingly video or not please?

I would love to have flash up to date on the PS3

That way I could watch stuff from SVT Play easily on the TV, which is something I currently can't do.

Actually, no I don't accept it - I payed a lot of money for my PS3 & judging by many people who've answered questions you've answered, neither do they!

Also, if you're finding these forums repetitive why not use other forums. Yahoo Answers is a well known, vast & really good forum; unfortunately you won't be able to use it if you're using a PS3, why, because of the PS3's token browser. 

You say "ACCEPT IT, MOVE ON & PLAY A GAME! Not possible I'm afraid, when people using the PS3 are forced to endure one of Sony's unnecessary (because redundancy should have been built into the PSN network) & endless maintenance schedules, you can't access their games platform Home to play games ON! If you then wanted to find alternative sites on the net for e.g. chess, I found, as others have, you can't use sites like chess.com, why, again because of the PS3 token browser!

I don't understand why the PS3 browser gets so much flack - it's not perfect by any means, but it covers about 80% of the sites that I go on using my laptop - along with play tv my PS3 experience has been very rounded, and whilst I can't access online banking I just find another way - no biggie

Don't know what you can't do on yahoo answers. 

Been on there very recently with the PS3 browser. (Lap top was over loaded converting a Video).

Flash developement is dead on NON PC thats not my statement thats Adobes choice.

They have killed it. There will be no more developement allowed.

They are now working on HTML5 and javascript tools that they can sell instead.

Only PCs will Get flash 12 and that will be coded to force HTML5 use for video not flash content on a site.

Legacy flash mode use only.
